Hello AffEngineer.com readers!
No, this is not Mateen (AffEngineer) talking about himself in 3rd person to inflate his ego. This is a guest post being written by Tyler Cruz. In fact, Mateen will be writing a guest post on my blog… so we’ve swapped blogs this week!
Who Am I?
I’m an internet entrepreneur who has been making a living from the Internet for a decade. I started out by monetizing my network of content-based websites, sold most of them, then turned to affiliate marketing and have focused on that over the past couple of years.
If you like income reports, here are the numbers from my affiliate marketing campaigns since 2013:
And here’s a monthly breakdown of 2014 so far:
I run a blog documenting my journey trying to make money online at TylerCruz.com. I have published over 1,000 posts throughout my blog’s 9-year span.
But enough about me…
A Breath of Fresh Air
I first “met” Mateen when I discovered an e-mail he had sent to me. It was buried deep inside my junk e-mail folder (I occasionally check for legitimate e-mails which have accidentally been put there).
He introduced himself to me and mentioned that he had started a similar blog with income reports.
Now, there are a lot of bloggers in the “make money online” niche out there, and while there aren’t as many as there used to be, there are even some affiliate marketing blogs.
Something that has bothered me is that I had seemed to have been the last affiliate marketing blog that disclosed income reports. When I was just starting out in affiliate marketing, one of the main things that inspired me and kept me going was seeing these huge numbers from affiliate marketing bloggers. It was extremely motivating and interesting.
Sadly, all of those blogs have either gone down or are no longer updated. I thought I was the only affiliate marketing blog left that did this.
So when I see that AffEngineer not only posts his income reports, but does so in great detail like I do, I was very happy.
Actual Useful Content
When you’ve been blogging as long as I have (9 years and 1,000 posts is a long time let me tell you), it’s very easy to get a bit lazy in your publishing.
While AffEngineer.com is still a very new blog, Mateen has already written some fantastic posts. Take this one for example: not only does he share a valuable resource which can greatly help your campaigns in the future, but he actually provides a case study as well.
In fact, I must admit that I was a bit surprised in some areas of his posts as Mateen reveals details that I would NEVER reveal about my campaigns on my blog. As he becomes more experienced in affiliate marketing though he may just have to be slightly more discreet as he discovers just how brutal the industry can be 😉
Thinking for Himself
It seems to me that these days, the majority of new affiliate marketers aren’t really thinking for themselves, but are rather just following general formulas from other affiliates.
For example, it is all too common to see a new affiliate just sign up at an affiliate network, register an account at PlentyOfFish, and start running some dating ads. This is essentially what everyone new does now it seems, and then they wonder why they can’t get anything profitable when they’re basically in a sandpit of thousands of other affiliate marketers doing the exact same thing.
Mateen has already shown his creative side in some of his posts through some of his ideas on his campaigns (such as this one).
He’s Already Done It
Look at how fast Mateen grew:
From –$268 in July 2013 to $85,301.97 just 9 months later.
Yes, since March 2014, his income has gone back down, but the beauty of affiliate marketing is that if you can do it once, then you can do it again.
There are basically two massive hurdles.
The first is to make $10/profit a day. That’s the hardest one, and probably 95% fail to make it there. The second is to make $1,000/profit a day. Mateen has already jumped past both hurdles which means that he can hit that $85,000 profit month again and even surpass it. Not only is it possible, but it’s actually likely.
Mark my words – as long as Mateen keeps with it and doesn’t give up, you’ll see some very big things from him soon enough.
