I’ve blogged about this before, but reminders are always good.
My method with Teespring has always been to find something that’s working and then try something similar in a bunch of different things I can think of.
For example if I find something that works well for Chihuahua’s then I’ll try a similar angle with Pugs, Pitbulls, Labradors, etc.
But sometimes, if you think outside the box, there’s ways to make things work in a lot more ways then most people initially assume.
These days, if I find something that works for pet owners, I’ll go VERY broad and test it for,
- Car Enthusiasts
- Families
- Hobbies
- Sports
- etc
There’s almost always a way to tweak the design to suit pretty much anything.
Once I find it works for, say, Sports, I’ll then Drill down and list all the sports I can think of and make it for each one.
This is what I mean when I say ‘going broad’. It’s a good way to get a feel for where the market might be and with some luck you’ll uncover a small mine that hasn’t been mined yet.
