Challenge: Eat Nothing But Raw Fruits, Vegetables, nuts and seeds for a whole 30 days and document any changes.
Day 4. Done.
Today has been, by far, the hardest day!
Yesterday Someone bought Pizza and today morning that’s all I could think about. If I hadn’t have blogged about it, I would have drive my hungry butt straight to the nearest pizza hut. But I didn’t.
I made my food, and continued.
One main thing I realised was my ability to wake up at 5.30am this morning with relatively little tiredness. Usually, I’d be way too sleepy and would press snooze till around 7am. But this time, even though I slept around 12.30am, I woke up at 5.30am feeling pretty good!
I was able to get up, wash up and get straight into work.
I smashed out 3 hours of work and at 8.30 – 9, took a short break and got right back into it.
It’s been a while since I’ve worked like this. I just haven’t been able to wake up early. It made me realise the importance of getting the day started right.
Apart from that, it’s been pretty tough these last 24 hours. I was craving everything under the sun and just didn’t look forward to eating any fruits or veggies. My sister made some really nice salad though. Maybe I need a variety. I’ve been eating pretty much the same set of foods for the last 3 days.
Pretty much the same as Day 2.
- 750ml of orange/apple/carrot juice (250 calories)
- 1.5L of banana/avacado/almonds/chia seeds/strawberries smoothie (900 calories)
- Plate of fruits, (kiwi fruits, oranges, mangos, rock melon, pineapple, watermelon) (400 calories)
- 4 protein balls, (almonds, chia seeds, dates, dried apricots, walnuts, raw cocoa powder) (800 calories)
Got the job done and felt pretty good at the end of the day.
I also did some light skipping and cardio work getting myself ready for when boxing starts up again. All up, it was about 30 minutes of pretty intense cardio. Considering I hadn’t worked out properly for a good 2 weeks, I was still able to do everything with ease. Usually that’s not the case. A week of no cardio means my body will lose 50%+ of it’s fitness. I’m sure it had to do with the amount of energy I had with all this raw food.
Anyway, that’s all for now. No major changes but small things are happening.
