If you're the type of person to have a tonne of business ideas running through your head at any given time then you've come to the right place.

I've struggled with this my entire life.

In fact, every entrepreneur will have struggled with managing their idea flow and implementation.

In this article, I wanted to go through some techniques I use that allow me to explore different businesses at the same time yet continue to slowly grow my core businesses.

Focus Is Key

I need to highlight this first. Your mind should literally look like the above image.

Whether you're working on 1 project or 10, at any given point of the day, you must be focussed 100% in the task in front of you.

Push all other ideas or tasks aside.

If any, 'to do' things pop into your head, don't alt tab and start doing them, just note it down somewhere and continue the task in front of you.

My manager at my previous company was great at this.

Out of his list of 10+ things he had to get through for the day, he would work on one thing at a time.

While I would be alt tabbing every 5 minutes because I just remembered a task I had to get done.

I would finish barely 3-4 tasks while my manager would comfortable finish everything and leave the office at 4pm.

The One Day 100% Dedication Technique

Now that we got the importance of focus out of the way, this is the technique I use to implement it.

Over the course of my career, I've realised that there is a set amount of hours/tasks required per week to keep parts of my business(es) healthy and thriving.

For example, 3 blog posts with Youtube videos per week is plenty for this blog. Any more than that and I'd probably get annoying.

I'll start with making a list of things I need to get done for the week. Then I'll group them up in tasks that can be done in a day.

Let's use my blogging example and break down how long that would take.

  • 3 x 5 minute videos created - 45 minutes
  • 3 x 600+ word articles - 1.5 hours
  • Editing and uploading on YouTube - 2 Hours
  • TOTAL - Around 4 Hours

Usually people would work on the articles on the day they want to post them but my method is to group them all up into one day and get them done!

This keeps me 100% focussed and stops me from starting and stopping all the time, never really getting anything done.

Add in an hour or 2 of maintenance tasks such as responding to emails, skyping, reading articles, etc and we have a full day!

So in that one day, I've done a whole weeks worth of work for one of my businesses.

How easy was that? One less thing I need to think about which is great! The less things running around in your mind the better.

Let's Look at Drop-Shipping

With Drop-Shipping, I think testing around 6 products a day is plenty.

That's 30 Product test for the week.

What if I were able to do this in the space of 2 Days? Test 15 Products a day?

It will take me about 4-5 hours to research 15 products, set them up in the store and market them.

Again, add another 2 hours for maintenance work and we have 2 days.

See how this works?

It may seem stupid simple but it's a very effective way to get things done.

If you're going to juggle multiple projects everyday, I'll guarantee you won't get anything close to this amount of work done.

When we start another project, it takes us about 15 minutes to get into the groove of 100% efficiency. If your starting and stopping new things, you're wasting 15 minutes every time just to get from 1st gear to 6th which will add up.

Business only works for the focussed individual.

You can have multiple ideas but you must be able to work give the task at hand 100% of your focus. This is the only way you'll get things done.

Play some music in the background if it helps get rid of the bore.

The reality is business gets boring and tedious sometimes but you must be able to push through it.

Try this technique and let me know how it goes!

It's what I use to manage my many projects I have going on.

From new blogs to domain flipping to eCommerce Campaigns to other website joint ventures.

What ever it is, it has a priority and a set time to be worked on.

Ideally, there will come a time where you will work on one business idea for the full week because it will be making you the bulk of your income.

Till then, if your the multi-idea type of person, this is the best model for you.
